Our Story

Where Price and Service Meet

Autobahn Limited was established on 2nd May 1995, marking the beginning of a journey that has now spanned over three decades of dedicated service to the Maltese automotive industry. Our story began with the sale of pre-owned vehicles on a commission basis.

In those early years, advertising opportunities were very limited, so we relied on creativity and personal commitment to reach potential buyers. Every week, we manually prepared a typed list of all the vehicles available for sale. These lists were updated weekly and distributed by post to our subscribers, while additional copies were placed on vehicles in public car parks and handed out at various events and busy locations across Malta.

During our early years, we organised monthly open weekends, held on the first weekend of every month, where we gathered and displayed as many client-owned vehicles as possible.

These events quickly gained popularity, attracting car enthusiasts and prospective buyers alike, and helped establish Autobahn as a trusted name in Malta's automotive market. This hands-on approach helped us build a strong reputation, expand our network, and establish the trust that continues to define Autobahn Limited today.

The Beginning

Autobahn Limited was established on 2nd May 1995. Our story began with the sale of pre-owned vehicles on a commission basis, and we organised monthly open weekends to gather and display as many client-owned vehicles as possible.

Digital Pioneer

At a time when internet technology was still in its infancy in Malta, Autobahn launched its own website, an innovative step that strengthened our visibility and made our services more accessible to customers. Around the same period, we expanded our operations into the importation of high-quality pre-owned Japanese vehicles, offering exceptional value and reliability to the local market.

UVIA Member

Autobahn had become an official member of the Used Vehicle Importers' Association (UVIA), further reinforcing our reputation and commitment to professional standards within the industry.

Insurance Services

Our continued growth led to another important milestone, when we became a Tied Insurance Intermediary for Atlas Insurance. What initially began as an additional service for vehicle purchasers quickly developed into a successful insurance portfolio. Today, we proudly provide insurance solutions to private individuals, SMEs, and some of Malta's leading companies.

UK Imports

As customer demand evolved in the UK Imports, so did our business. We expanded into the importation of vehicles from the United Kingdom, sourcing used cars from some of the country's largest vehicle auctions. This significantly enhanced our range of executive and premium vehicles, providing customers with greater choice and exceptional value.

New-Vehicle Sub-Agents

We also became sub-agents for several leading new vehicle manufacturers. Strong customer demand eventually led us to begin stocking brand-new vehicles ourselves, enabling clients to purchase immediately without the lengthy waiting periods often associated with factory orders.

Leasing Launch

A major milestone followed with the introduction of our vehicle leasing division, specialising primarily in executive vehicles. The service quickly gained popularity, and many of our earliest leasing clients remain valued customers today. A reflection of the long-lasting relationships we have built over the years.

Specialist Repairs

Following the significant number of insurance claims arising from a major hailstorm, we introduced a temporary specialist repair service through a partnership with a renowned Swiss company specialising in Paintless Dent Repair (PDR).

Giving Back

Autobahn proudly began supporting Pink October Malta, contributing to the national Breast Cancer Awareness campaign through various fundraising and awareness initiatives. Giving back to the community has since become an integral part of our company's values.

Launch Events

We began organising exclusive executive vehicle launch events, giving clients the opportunity to experience the latest models arriving in Malta through private presentations, test drives, and networking events.

EV Pioneers

Continuing our commitment to innovation, we began importing pre-owned electric vehicles. At a time when electric mobility was still emerging in Malta, Autobahn was once again among the pioneers. As awareness of sustainable transportation increased, so did demand for electric vehicles, further strengthening our position within this rapidly evolving market.

Electric Future

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, customer demand shifted rapidly towards electric mobility. We responded by expanding our portfolio of brand-new electric vehicles, with particular emphasis on BMW and Nissan models, offering customers the latest technology together with environmentally responsible mobility solutions.

Prestige & Classic

We further broadened our portfolio by entering the prestige and classic car market, offering carefully selected collectible, luxury, and investment-grade vehicles to discerning enthusiasts and collectors.
